Two leading French startups have announced a partnership to bring increased connectivity to developing countries.
Be-Bound, specializing in mobile internet connectivity, and Famoco, leader of Android-based transactional devices, are partnering to bring connectivity to all. Be-bound’s mobile technology (N4B) will be integrated into Famoco Android devices to optimize transactions and the data flow in regions where the majority of local businesses still face daily struggles related to the digital divide.
FAMOCO and Be-Bound: two technologies, a single ambition
Be-Bound has developed a patented technology that guarantees mobile internet connectivity across all networks (even where there is only 2G) – (the technology is also known as N4B, so-named for its power to connect the Next 4 Billion people who are still unconnected). Meanwhile, Famoco develops Android-based transactional devices and has 300 professional clients in 30 countries using their Android terminals.
By combining these technologies, Be-Bound and Famoco will provide mobile internet services capable of working everywhere there is a phone singal, to professionals in developing countries. The integration of Be-Bound’s N4B technology means that Famoco will now be able to offer devices that work everywhere, even without internet. The Famoco devices that integrate Be-Bound will be especially destined for more remote regions where internet coverage remains unreliable or is even considered nonexistent.
The importance of increasing connectivity worldwide
Be-Bound’s company vision is to contribute to global development by increasing connectivity worldwide. With their patented technology, the company is dedicated to bringing affordable and accessible mobile internet services to the largest number of people possible, as a means to bridge the digital divide. This partnership, which combines Be-Bound and Famoco technologies, represents the commitment of both companies to bring connectivity to the masses.
The goal : provide a reliable and performant solution that guarantees access to connectivity to all professional users of transactional terminals by enabling them to respond to transaction demands using the minimum bandwidth necessary.
« Thanks to Be-Bound, we can now propose ‘light’ solutions that limit data consumption, in environments of unequal digital maturity, to the majority of businesses in developing countries. » stated Lionel BARABAN, CEO & co- founder de FAMOCO.
